Masonic Relief Grants Sad Lady

Every year, The Freemasons' Grand Charity awards grants to thousands of needy individuals.  Support for Masons and their dependants is one of the primary activities of the Charity and no case of genuine need is ever rejected.  

About Masonic Relief Grants 

  • Grants given towards the cost of daily living expenses and unexpected needs
  • There is no limit to the number of grants an individual may receive over their lifetime
  • Annual grants usually range from £350 to £4,500

 Eligiblity

  • Any Freemason experiencing genuine hardship, whether he is a presently subscribing member or no longer belongs to a Lodge, for whatever reason, may apply
  • The widows and certain other immediate dependants of the above may also apply.
  • Single applicants should not have more than £10,000 in savings, or £15,000 if a couple

How to apply 

  • If you think you may be eligible (see above), you should contact the Lodge Almoner or The Freemasons' Grand Charity office
  • If you are not sure who the Lodge Almoner is, we can put you in contact with a local representative who will guide you through the application process
  • Applications are considered at a monthly meeting of the Masonic Relief Grants Committee
  • A decision is usually reached within 4-8 weeks of receipt of the application
